Christmas Time is Here!

Hello Loved Ones! December 2010

God has blessed us this year and we are thankful to be able to share some of our family “news” with you. Here are some of our highlights:

Mike : Entering his second year at Free Wheelchair Mission as Pastor of Church Development, he traveled to Sri Lanka in July and gave away 400 wheelchairs. He has been able to teach and speak more this year, and has also been able to act in a couple of short films. Time with family is priority #1 and so much fun right now with Kylie and Austin the ages they are!

Allison: Teaching full-time again this year, she loves teaching reading and math and singing with first-graders! It is even more fun watching Austin and Kylie grow into great people. She is blessed to be home with them in the afternoons to help with homework and take them to sports practices. She has loved reading some books in the Chronicles of Narnia and Laura Ingalls Wilder series with them. This year she has loved leading worship with kids at Mariners Church.

Austin: In third grade at Brywood Elementary, Austin loves his teacher, his classmates and just last week was elected “mayor” of his class! He enjoys reading, sports and being with friends. He continues to participate in soccer, basketball, swimming and scouting. He loves anything related to “Star Wars” and can’t get enough of the computer game “Rollercoaster Tycoon.”

Kylie: A second-grader at Brywood , Kylie really enjoys school and loves to help her teacher. She took an art class this year and continues to grow as an artist. She loves to run, swim, play soccer and spend time with friends in her Brownie troop. Kylie is an animal lover and hopes we’ll get a dog in 2011!

A highlight for us last summer was serving in Mexico as a family with our church. We also traveled to Sedona, the Bay Area and a “couple only” trip to New York City! We love to get away together, exploring new places and revisiting familiar locations. Grandma Meier retired this year and we look forward to more visits with her and Grandpa.

We are so thankful for our relationships with you! We hope you have joy and peace this holiday season and in the New Year.

4th of July Weekend

Holiday weekends are a great time to rest, catch up on chores and hang out with friends. Today we were fortunate to have The Lucas and Hendricks families over. We had a killer lunch followed by a leisurely time at the pool. Perfect day!

Trip to Sedona

On Monday at 5am, our family set off for a week long adventure in the desert. On our way to Sedona, we stopped in Peoria to visit great grandpa Meier. We had a really nice visit. The kids said how much they enjoyed meeting Ken.

Monday afternoon we arrived at our Hyatt timeshare and settled into our apartment. We decided as a family to really lay low this week and not overdue it. Our tendancy is to try and see and do too much.

Kylie had a great idea to make a jello snack for us. She picked out a packet of her favorite flavor-Strawberry. She made it all by herself. It was really delicious. This is such a beautiful place. At the same time its a strange place. We've already walked past several new age stores and even 1 UFO sighting store.

The Orange Balloon

Recently Grandpa and Grandma Meier came out to visit. We'd been wanting to take a ride on the orange balloon at the Great Park in Irvine. This was a great opportunity to check it out together.

We had a great deal of fun running around the grassy field with grandma, waiting for our turn to go up in the balloon. When the time came for our ride, we were a little nervous. It was windy outside and very sunny.

We held on tightly as the balloon went up, and up, and up! It wasn't so bad. In fact, it was lots of fun!!!!

We also had lots of fun playing on the playground toys and exploring the old airplane hangers. We would love to go back again someday! Thanks for reading our blog!.

Love, Austin and Kylie

Fun on the Central Coast!

Hi everyone! Thank you for visiting our family blog. This is Kylie! I'd like to tell you about our day. Our first activity today was going across a large bridge at the train station. I ran down the ramp with mommy.

Next we went downtown and visited the Mission. There are 21 Missions along the California coast. I learned today that the Mission in San Luis Obispo was the 5th one built in 1772. After our visit we had lunch at Mondeo. I had the Mac and Cheese platter. It was very, very creamy! But I liked it anyway!

After lunch we went to the Christian bookstore, purchased two great movies and after buying a smoothie for dessert, we went home to watch the movie, "My dog Skip". I liked it alot! But the fun didn't stop there, we got in the van and drove to the Madonna Inn. The thing I like most about the Madonna Inn is there are so many different types of rooms!

Before we left we each had a cookie...well, daddy had two! No fair daddy!!!!

I'm enjoying my vacation so much. Thank you to the Zellers for letting us stay at your house while you're away!
